One Field Fallow

One Field Fallow is a new socio-cultural project and organisation in Brussels. Sprouted from a disused night shop, One Field Fallow serves as a workspace for social-artistic research, a neighbourhood laboratory, and a meeting point for external individuals, collectives, organizations,working towards neighbourhood cohesion. The organization and its participants operate horizontally, inspired by the rhythm of the seasons and agricultural cycles. They operate primarily through core values that they have identified and collectively agreed upon, used as a medium to navigate and mediate our activities.

One Field Fallow is currently questioning how it wants to participate or what they want to contribute or provide to the public program of Radical Shapeshifters at Kunsthal Mechelen . Some of them are excited, others are skeptical. There is no consensus in the organisation on whether or not they are radical and if this term is accurately applied in the context of the exhibition and program. One Field Fallow is polyvocal and sometimes contradictory. Leading up to our potential intervention, the collective is identifying its different relations to the word radical and how it’s used by the institution Kunsthal Mechelen.
