New in-situ artwork by Stans Vrijsen
Kunsthal Mechelen and Local Service Centre De Plek warmly invite you to the inauguration of the new in-situ artwork by Stans Vrijsen on Sunday 8 March 2026.
We look forward to welcoming you from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm in the Brasserie of LDC De Plek for a drink, a friendly chat and inspiring words from director Maddy van den Bergh, surveyor Willy Van Hoof, and of course Stans Vrijsen herself. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to view the artwork up close in the entrance hall. During the event, the publication created by Stans in collaboration with Erf & Heem vzw will also be available for purchase.
Stans Vrijsen is a visual artist based in Mechelen. She studied painting and printmaking at KASK (Ghent) and completed further training in decorative and restoration techniques at the Institut supérieur de peinture Van der Kelen-Logelain (Brussels). These artisanal skills and techniques form an important source of inspiration in her projects and visual language.
The artwork was commissioned by Lokaal Dienstencentrum De Plek, in collaboration with the City Department of Projects and Monuments and Kunsthal Mechelen.
