This Autumn, Kunsthal Mechelen will be preparing the exhibition by curator collective Dis Mon Nom opening on 6th of March 2027. The exhibition will explore how friendship shapes us, brings us together, sometimes escapes and how it helps us to build and dream together.

The opening of this exhibition will be quite unusual as Dis Mon Nom is preparing a parade through Mechelen, together with artist Darius Dolatyari-Dolatdust. For the production of the costumes used during this event we'll be working together with local partners in Mechelen, supported by the Heritage Unit.

Kunsthal Mechelen is looking for an intern who can support us during the preparation of this opening parade. You'll also be helping with the general production of both this project and the solo exhibition of Jurgen Ots, which will open on the 12th of December 2026.

Most of the Kunsthal Mechelen team is Dutch speaking, so a good knowledge of Dutch will be helpful. Most of the communication with the curators and the artists will happen in either English or French.

The internship will start from mid-October. Starting earlier is open for discussion. Your period will be until the 6th of March 2027, excluding the Christmas and exam period.

Your schedule can be planned flexibly depending on the days you have class. The internship period can also be discussed if needed, depending on the amount of hours needed.

This internship can only be followed as part of an obligated internship as part of your education and will happen through your educational institution. This is an unpaid internship.

Kunsthal Mechelen is an open and generous house for contemporary art. We mainly organize exhibitions and develop art in public space.

You'll be working in a small team in which everyone takes up multiple roles.
