Does contemporary art make your heart beat a little faster? Do you want to bring others through an exhibition? Kunsthal Mechelen is searching for volunteers that want to guide visitors. At this moment, guided tours are mostly offered to schools or groups bigger than 15 people.

Accessibility is a really important part of Kunsthal Mechelen's organisation. An exhibition has to be able to offer new perspectives to every visitor, from curious passer-by to art lovers. As a guide you're invited to bring your own expertise or perspectives and add it to the theme of or the works in the exhibition. As a guide, you'll be invited for a guided tour by the curator before the opening of a new exhibition, giving you the opportunity to ask questions or gain insights that aren't necessarily presented in the exhibition booklet.

Kunsthal Mechelen mainly presents its program in Dutch and English. Other languages are not required, but very much welcomed to invite visitors who speak other languages.

Per guided tour you'll receive a volunteer remuneration of €44,02 and a reimbursement for your travel.

Kunsthal Mechelen is an open house for contemporary art. It mainly organizes exhibitions in the Garage and develops art in public space. Kunsthal Mechelen works together with external curators in an open, dynamic program. Every exhibition brings new voices and perspectives, offering a varied program that attracts different interests.
